ANIMAL WELFARE
IS OUR PRIORITY
As a responsible producer, Agromousquetaires wishes to be one of the main reference players in the production techniques of today and tomorrow.
This is why, at SVA Jean Rozé, animal welfare is an integral part of our approach.
Training, audits, controls and tangible initiatives have been put in place to continuously improve our animal husbandry, transport and slaughter practices.

5 FUNDAMENTAL
ANIMAL FREEDOMS
At all times, we ensure that the
5 fundamental
animal freedoms are respected:
- No hunger, no thirst, no malnutrition
- No fear or distress
- No physical and/or thermal stress
- Freedom from pain, injury and disease
- Freedom of expressing the normal behaviour of one's species

STAFF
TRAINING
Support for farmers in complying with a charter of good animal husbandry practices, and training for SVA Jean Rozé staff in contact with the animals.

BEST PRATICES
MONITORING
An animal welfare management system, controlled by an independent organisation, aiming to continuously improve our breeding, transport and slaughtering practices through tangible initiatives.
- Drivers trained in animal welfare.
- Systematic wearing of dark clothing in slaughterhouses so as not to frighten the animals.

AUDITED
INDICATORS
Implementation of controls and indicators aimed at establishing progress schedules (animal transport time, wainting time in the cowshed, pH measurement of the meat to validate the absence of stress in animals before slaughter.)

NGO
AUDITS
Since 2017, SVA Jean Rozé has been a participant in Scientific Committees with Agromousquetaires on the subject of animal welfare. Also, visits and audits by welfare NGOs are regularly conducted at our slaughter sites.
